We used points for the flight to Vietnam, as we have a lot of points and I worry that United will made them useless, as they are already worth a lot less than they were. And I had a lot of points. So we used about 3/4 of my points for 2 business class tickets to Ho Chi Minh City.
We were in united economy to Seattle (aka greyhound), but it was ok enough. The flight from Seattle to Taipei was fantastic. They had lie down seats, and amazing in flight service. They even gave us our own jammies (to keep!).
We also have gotten to use the lounge. The lounge in Seattle was just so-so, although this is where the guy identified the potential disaster. We were also met by representative in Taipei to go over our visa status with us. EVA Airlines has amazing service, and they are so friendly.
The lounge in Taipei is pretty nice. I have been in nicer ones, but they had a nice buffet, showers (debating on taking one), a comfortable seating area and free WiFi. We are sipping on a cognac while we wait for our next flight (business class too) to HCMC. We are going to board as soon as possible as it was so luxuirous.
Did they serve peanuts?
No peanuts, but they did have fancy toast and cheese.
Cognac?
